What is kidney cancer?
Cancer is a group of diseases that lead to the overgrowth of cells in certain parts of the body. These cells can spread to different parts of the body away from where they start. In the case of kidney cancer, the disease affects the kidney and in most cases the renal cell.
The most common type of kidney cancer is renal cell carcinoma, RCC. In most cases, the disease shows now symptoms and patients learn of it when they test for other illnesses. An ultrasound will show the presence of kidney cancer when someone experience symptoms such as loss of weight, fever, and high blood pressure.
Other symptoms include blood in urine, mass felt in kidney area, and low back pain. Patients might also experience thickening of blood, tiredness, persistent temperature and sweating at night, and abnormal count of red blood cells.
